Savandurga is one of the largest monolithic rock formations in all of Asia, located on the outskirts of Bangalore. The rock structure comprising two hillocks—Billigudda and Karigudda—flanked by Akravati River at the bottom makes for a picturesque and serene setting for a trek. While Savandurga is popular as a day-long picnic destination, its potential as a weekend camping getaway hasn’t been tapped to the fullest. Carry your own tent, supplies for a bonfire, adequate food and water, and you are all set! A trek all the way up to the Savandurga peak is totally recommended.
